State-Adopted Curricular Programs
California has recently become one of 47 states to adopt the Common Core Standards in order to effective prepare students for college and career readiness and the demands of the ever-changing demands of the 21st Century. The links below will direct you to PDF documents of the California Common Core State Standards as well as resources to support you and your child in achieving success on the rigors of Common Core. The Rancho Santa Fe School District will be transitioning to the Common Core Standards over the next two school years. New statewide assessment measures based on Common Core State Standards will begin during the 2014-2015 school year.
TEXTBOOKS AND MATERIALS
The Rancho Santa Fe School District ensures that sufficient, current textbooks and materials are available to support the District instructional program. A Public Hearing is held each year to determine sufficient textbooks or instructional materials, pursuant to the settlement of Williams vs. the State of California. All students are given their own individual textbooks in core subjects for use in the classroom and to take home to complete required homework assignments. All textbooks and instructional materials are aligned with the California State Content Standards and Frameworks. State Instructional Materials Adoption Cycle and review processes are used for adoption of instructional materials in each curricular area within a seven-year cycle.
