Sports Update

Boys Basketball

The Varsity basketball team ran its record to 3-0 with wins last Thursday over Maranatha and on Tuesday against Horizon.   The team was led by the outstanding play of Kirk B., Ryan C., and Patrick B.

Varsity will close out their December schedule with three games SCMSL North Division games next week against Pacific Ridge, Horizon Prep and San Diego Jewish Academy.

The Blue Team continued its winning ways with a convincing victory over Horizon on Tuesday. Nick N., Spencer B., and Jayden G. made strong contributions on both offense and defense. The Blue team sits at 2-0 with a game next Monday against North Division foe Pacific Ridge.

The Red Team bounced back with a great win last Thursday over Maranatha. The team was led in scoring and assists by Jacob W. Grant C. and Ryan C. also contributed to the win.

Girls Soccer

The Lady Eagles Varsity began their season with a convincing 6-3 win over Francis Parker on Tuesday.   Katie D., Elle W., and Tessa D. led the way with goal scoring and great passing.   The team followed up the opening win with a victory on Wednesday at San Diego Jewish Academy.

The schedule next week features two important SCMSL North Division matches against Maranatha on Monday and Pacific Ridge on Wednesday.

The Junior Varsity team battled a tough Parker team in the second game. Morgan G. and Maria A. carried the play for the JV’s and Ava C. scored an exciting goal with the length of the field rush.

Boys Soccer

The boys soccer team began their season facing two of the toughest opponents on the SCMSL schedule in Francis Parker and SDJA. Both games came down to the wire with the Eagles coming up short 2-1 and 1-0, respectively.   The team was led by the great effort of Anthony P., Max M. and the goal tending of Chase S. and Jose R.

The boys are confident they will bounce back next week with games on Monday versus Army/Navy and Tuesday against Maranatha.
